Following investigations into suspended security checks and other lapses in border security, the Home Secretary, Theresa May, has announced that the UK Border Agency will be split in two.

The UK Border Force, the law enforcement arm of the UK Border Agency, will be separated and given new management. The role of head of the UK Border Force will be filled by the chief constable of Wiltshire police, Brian Moore, in the interim.

Although further details have not yet been announced, we do not expect that this split will have any impact on our clients, as the UK Border Agency will continue to be responsible for casework etc. in the same way.

We will publish additional new stories once more details have been announced.
