Guidance on other permit types

Below is a list of the key information and documents needed in order for us to provide a reliable initial assessment for a number of different potential applications.

Business Visitors

If you are interested in coming to the UK as a business visitor (or in the case of an employer, your overseas employee wishes to enter the UK under this category), please contact one of our consultants on 0845 226 4030 or by email on info@uk-wp.com. We will need to a copy of the individual’s CV and a clear outline of the nature and duration of the visit, and the activities that are intended for the individual while in the UK. Please also note that the person should be based outside of the UK and intend to remain based outside of the UK. He or she should normally be employed outside of the UK, or engaged in a business that is based overseas.

Business People

If you are interested in coming to the UK as a business person, please contact one of our consultants on 0845 226 4030 or by email on info@uk-wp.com for initial advice on the strength of your application. We will need to see a clear business plan in order to provide worthwhile feedback. This business plan should include information on:

  • A clear strategy with financial projections normally required
  • The number of jobs that the new business in the UK is going to create
  • The amount to be invested in the business by the potential applicant
  • The level and nature of involvement in the relevant business in the UK
  • The individual’s CV would normally also need to be included

Innovators

If you are interested in coming to the UK as an Innovator, please contact one of our consultants on 0845 226 4030 or by email on info@uk-wp.com for initial advice on the strength of your case. We will need to see a clear business plan in order to provide worthwhile feedback. This business plan should include information on:

  • A clear strategy with financial projections normally required
  • The number and nature of new of jobs that the business in the UK is going to create
  • The amount of seed capital or initial funding in place (or agreed in principle)
  • Details of the direct personal shareholding of the equity capital
  • The individual’s CV would also normally need to be included

Investors

If you are interested in coming to the UK as an investor, please contact one of our consultants on 0845 226 4030 or by email on info@uk-wp.com for initial advice on the strength of your case. We will need to see a clear investment or business plan in order to provide you with worthwhile feedback. This plan should include information on:

  • The source of the investment capital
  • The nature and size of the main target for the investment (where at least the first £750,000 will be invested)
  • The individual’s CV would also normally need to be included, and any background experience or exposure that is relevant to the investment business should be highlighted

Sole Representatives

We will need to see a clear business plan in order to provide you with worthwhile feedback. This plan should include information on:

  • The history and standing of the parent company
  • The strategy for the UK business (including financial projections in most cases)
  • The current position of the individual within the parent company and their proposed position within the UK business including their responsibilities and decision-making powers
  • The individual’s CV would also normally need to be included

EU Residence Permits & Worker Registration

If you are an EU national currently residing in the UK, or wishing to reside in the UK, please contact us regarding the EU Residence permit or the Worker Registration scheme on 0845 226 4030 or info@uk-wp.com. A copy of your passport details page, and details of your economic activity whilst in the UK, would also prove useful.

Indefinite Leave to Remain

If you are interested in making an application for Indefinite leave to remain (ILR) please contact one of our consultants on 0845 226 4030 or by email on info@uk-wp.com for advice on the strength of your case. We will need an accurate summary of your immigration history covering at least the most recent 2 year, 5 year, or 10 year period, depending on the grounds of your application. We will also need confirmation of whether you have taken and passed the Life in the UK test, or the course in English and Citizenship. Please see the Indefinite Leave to Remain section of our website for guidance on the different ways of meeting the requirements for ILR. Copies of all passport visa stamps during the relevant period and any letters from the Home Office when these endorsements were made will also enable us to accurately assess eligibility.

Naturalisation

We will need an accurate summary of your immigration history covering at least the most recent 3 year or 5 year period, depending on the grounds of your application. Copies of all passport visa stamps during the relevant period and any letters from the Home Office when these endorsements were made will also enable us to accurately assess eligibility.
